HOUSTON — Junior goalkeeper Bella Killgore was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team, announced Thursday afternoon by the organization.
The honor recognizes the top student-athletes in the nation for their performances on the field and in the classroom. Killgore was named to the Academic All-District 7 team representing Division I soccer schools in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado and Idaho.
In the classroom, Killgore maintained a 3.70 GPA while majoring in Chemical Engineering. It is her third academic honor this year, as she was also named Third Team Scholar All-America by the United Soccer Coaches as well as First Team Academic All-Conference USA.
Killgore also excelled on the pitch, as she was named First Team All-Conference USA and Third Team United Coaches All-South Region. She was the starting goalkeeper for every match, becoming just the second player in school history to play every minute of the season. Her 14 victories tied the school record while recording 11 shutouts, the second most in school history. The Houston native also proved to be a force in the offensive zone, scoring four goals, the fourth most on the team.
