Rice Football honored the winners of its annual team awards during halftime of the 2021 Blue-Gray Game.
- Linebacker Blaze Alldredge repeated as the winner of the George Martin Award as the team MVP, becoming the first defensive player to earn the honor in consecutive seasons. He was named the C-USA Player of the Week after leading a Rice shutout at #15 Marshall with 10 tackles, a shared TFL, an interception and a second pass breakup.
- Fellow linebacker Garrett Grammer was named the winner of the O.J. Brigance Award, which is given annually to the Rice University football player who best represents and demonstrates the combined qualities of teamwork, good character, work ethic, and courageous leadership, which are the hallmark of the athletic and professional career of former Owl and NFL player O. J. Brigance. A standout performer on special teams in his first three years, Grammer moved into a starting role during 2020 and finished with a career-best 15 tackles.
- Running back Khalan Griffin received the Joe F. Lipscomb Award as the Owls' top freshman. - Senior wide receiver Austin Trammell was named the winner of the "Bloody Joe" Davis Award which goes to the player or players who most display the competitive spirit of the legendary Rice assistant coach, rising above pain and injury to be the best player possible.
