Credited with 15 tackles in three games before an injury sidelined him for the remainder of the year... Tied for the team lead with a career-best 11 tackles at Arkansas... 11-tackle effort was his second career double-figure tackle game, both of which have come on the road vs. SEC schools (10 at LSU in 2018). 2021 Preseason Honors: Athlon Sports All-Conference USA preseason team (4th team); Dave Campbell's Texas Football All-Texas preseason team (2nd team).
2020
Fourth on the team with 27 tackles despite missing one game... Credited with eight tackles, including a shared sack, and picked off his third career pass at Marshall... Credited with nine tackles in the opener vs. Middle Tennessee, the most in a game since his freshman season when he was credited with 10 at LSU in 2018.
2019
All-Conference USA honorable mention selection by league coaches…Third on the team with a career-high 64 tackles and tied for the team lead with two interceptions and seven passes defended… All seven pass defenses came in conference play (tied for ninth in C-USA in the regular season)… Picked off a Mason Fine pass in the first quarter to set up Rice’s first touchdown vs. North Texas and broke up a 4th down pass in the end zone with 4:15 left and Rice leading 20-14… One of four defenders to start in all 12 games this season and has started 20 consecutive games dating back to the UTSA game in 2018… Picked off his first career pass at UAB.
2018
C-USA All-Freshman selection by conference coaches...Took over as a starter in the second half of the year and was tied for fourth on the team with 50 tackles 30 of them in the last four games... Credited with a career-best 10 tackles, including one for loss, at LSU... Made his first career start vs. UTSA... Credited with five tackles in back-to-back starts vs. UAB and FIU... Credited with his first career sack at Hawai’i and with three tackles at Wake Forest ... Picked up two tackles in his first start.
Emerald High School
All-State and two-time All-Region II-AAA in South Carolina for coach Tim McMahon... Region II-AAA Defensive Player of the Year as a senior while leading Emerald to the regional championship and a berth in the AAA state semifinals... Credited with 120 tackles, 33 for loss (11 sacks) forced three fumbles, recovered four, returned an interception for a touchdown, and also recorded a safety as a senior... Rushed for 950 yards and scored 13 times on offense... First Rice signee from South Carolina since linebacker Rashard Reynolds in 1994... Two-time team offensive MVP for Emerald as a sophomore and junior... Rushed for 2,180 yards and scored 28 touchdowns in his career... Competed in track and was a state qualifier in the 100 and as part of Emerald's 4x100 relay.
