
Owls Head to Miami for Pair of Matches

In Brief: The 28th ranked Rice women's tennis team (11-3) will make their final road swing of the regular season this weekend when they take on FIU and USF this weekend in Miami, Florida. The Owls will meet the Panthers on their home courts at 11 a.m. (central) on Friday and then face the Bulls at FIU's facility at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
FIU: The Panthers are 7-0 this season, their best start since 1994, and 2-0 in C-USA action. Rice leads the series 5-1 (4-1 as members of Conference USA). The Panthers lone win in the series came in the title match of the 2018 C-USA Championship, a 4-3 decision that snapped the Owls five-year streak of conference titles.
USF: The Bulls are 10-7 on the season and are coming off a 6-1 win over Tulane on March 28. This will be the eighth meeting between the schools, with Rice leading the series 5-3. USF took the first three meetings, while Rice has captured the last five, including a 4-0 win at George R. Brown Tennis Center in 2019.
