Men’s Hoops Hosts Our Lady of the Lake in Regular Season Finale

HOUSTON — Rice plays its final regular season game of the season on Friday, Mar. 5, when it hosts Our Lady of the Lake. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will be livestreamed at CUSAtv.
Scouting Rice
• Rice enters its regular season finale with a 12-12 record and 6-10 in Conference USA after dropping a pair of games at Louisiana Tech.
• Sophomore Quincy Olivari leads the Owls with 15.9 points per game, which is seventh in Conference USA. He leads the league in three-point field goal percentage (41.7%) and three-point field goals made per game (3.1) and is ninth in field goal percentage (41.0%). He is also second on the team with 4.9 rebounds per game.
• Sophomore guard Travis Evee is second on the team with 14.5 points per game. He is second in C-USA in three-point field goals made per game (3.1) and is third in three-point field goal percentage (40.6%). He also leads the team with 1.1 steals per game.
• Sophomore forward Max Fiedler is averaging nearly a double-double, scoring 10.6 points per game while pulling down 8.5 rebounds per game, good for second in the conference. He leads the team in field goal percentage, connecting on 68.7% from the field while placing second in Conference USA in double-doubles, (7), ninth in assists per game (3.7) and blocks per game (3.7) and seventh in assist/turnover ratio (1.6).
• Junior guard Chris Mullins is scoring 10.6 points per game while redshirt sophomore forward Riley Abercrombie is adding 8.2 points per game and is third on the team with 4.1 rebounds per game.
• Rice is averaging 74.8 points per game while allowing 74.7.
• The Owls are connecting on 44.1% from the floor and 36.1% from three while their opponents are connecting on 45.3% from the field and 36.2% from three.
• Rice is also outrebounding its opponents, 37.2-to-35.1 while leading the league with 10.5 three-pointers per game, which is also sixth in the nation (as of Mar. 1) and placing second with 15.4 assists per game.

• Our Lady of the Lake will be playing just its 10th game of the season. However, OLLU is just 1-3, as only four games have counted towards its record. The Saints are coming off a 99-66 defeat at Louisiana Tech on Wednesday.
• Junior forward Ruben Monzon leads Our Lady of the Lake with 12.2 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game. He's also connecting on 55.3% from the floor.
• OLLU is averaging 64.0 points per game while allowing 91.0 points.
• The Saints are connecting on just 36.0% from the field and 21.3% from three while allowing their opponents to shoot 49.1% from the floor and 36.0% from behind the arc.
• Our Lady of the Lake is also being outrebounded, 50.6-to-30.8.
• Head coach Chris Dial is in his third season at the helm of the Our Lady of the Lake men's basketball program where he owns an 18-38 (.321) record.
