Hicks Earns Second Team All-American Honors

Places 14th in weight throw at NCAA Indoors
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Rice thrower Nick Hicks concluded his stellar indoor season with a 14th place finish in the weight throw at Thursday's NCAA Indoor Championships.
Hicks, who was the weight throw champion at the C-USA Championships and broke the school record twice, earned USTFCCCA Second Team All-American honors with a successful throw of 20.62m (67-8.00) on his second attempt on Thursday. The NCAA Championship appearance was the first of Hicks' career.
Earlier this season, Hicks established a new Rice record in the weight throw with a distance of 22.21m (72-10.50) at the H-Town SpeedCity Series.
