MXC Preview | Owls Make Trek to FSU Invite/Pre-Nationals

Competition begins at 7 a.m. CT on Friday
HOUSTON - The Rice Owls men's cross country team will be competing in the prestigious FSU Invite/Pre-Nationals 8k race this weekend, hosted by Florida State at the Apalachee Regional Park. The meet, which will take place at the site of the NCAA Championships in November, will feature 40 of the best teams across the nation of which 11 are ranked in this week's USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll.
The Owls are one of four teams who will be competing from the South Central Region, joining Arkansas, Texas, and Central Arkansas.
Rice has two races under their belts, winning the season-opening Rice Invitational on Sept. 10 and placing third at the Texas A&M Invitational back on Sept. 25. This week's race will be the final competition before the Conference USA Championships take place on Oct. 30 in Charlotte.
Friday's race will have live results available at pttiming.com. The Owls are currently ranked No. 6 in the latest USTFCCCA South Central regional rankings.
