Owls Win Two of Three to Open TCU Invite

In Brief: Rice picked up win in its lone doubles match and split a pair of singles matches to open play at the TCU Invite, which was held indoors at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on a snowy Sunday in Fort Worth.
Doubles: Maria Budin and Diae El Jardi opened the Owls "spring" season with a 6-4 win over Houston's Phonexay Chitdara and Sophie Gerits. Chitdara defeated El Jardi 6-1, 6-2 to close out the first day of action.
