Men’s Hoops Begins Three-Game Road Trip at Louisiana Tech

HOUSTON — Rice begins a stretch of three road games in five days this Thursday, Jan. 16, when it travels to Ruston, La., to face Louisiana Tech. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT and the game will be livestreamed by the ESPN+.
Scouting Rice
• Rice enters Thursday night's contest with a 9-8 record, including 1-3 in Conference USA. The Owls snapped a four-game losing streak last Saturday, defeating FIU, 92-78.
• Sophomore Trey Murphy III leads the Owls with 13.2 points per game and 1.1 steals per game while placing third in rebounds (5.6). He is also fourth in the league in three-pointers made per game (2.4).
• Senior Robert Martin is second on the team with 11.5 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game.
• Senior Ako Adams is third on the team with 11.0 points per game and second with 2.1 assists per game. He is also third in Conference USA in free throw percentage (89.1%) and sixth with in three-pointers made per game (2.4) while leading the team in three-point field goal percentage (38.1%).
• Sophomore Drew Peterson is fourth on the team in scoring (10.9) and leads the team and is sixth in C-USA with 6.9 rebounds per game. He is also seventh in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.5) and tied for ninth in assists (3.4) and free throw percentage (82.2%).
• Redshirt junior Josh Parrish is averaging 5.6 points on the year, but 10.3 points per game in conference play.
• Rice is averaging 74.6 points while allowing 74.8.
• The Owls are connecting on 42.8% from the floor and 33.4% from three while allowing their opponents to connect on 45.0% from the field but just 30.7% from three.
• Rice's opponents are outrebounding the Owls, 38.1-to-37.1 but the Owls are second in the conference in three-pointers made per game (9.6).
• Head coach Scott Pera is in his third season leading the Rice men's basketball program. He holds a record of 29-51.

• Louisiana Tech enters today's contest with a 12-4 record, including 3-1 in Conference USA. The Bulldogs have won six of their last seven games after defeating UTEP last Saturday, 64-61.
• Senior guard DaQuan Bracey leads La Tech in scoring with 12.5 points per game. He is second in the conference in three-point field goal percentage (49.2%), third in assist/turnover ratio (1.7) and seventh in field goal percentage (.527).
• Redshirt junior guard Kalob Ledoux is second on the team with 12.4 points per game and ninth in the league in three-pointers made per game (2.1).
• Junior guard Amorie Archibald is third on the team with 11.4 points per game and leads C-USA in free throw percentage, connecting on 91.7% from the charity stripe.
• Senior forward Mubarak Muhammed is averaging 8.0 points per game. He leads Conference USA with 8.9 rebounds per game and is ninth in field goal percentage, connecting on 52.1% from the floor.
• Louisiana Tech is scoring 77.1 points per game while allowing just 61.6.
• The Bulldogs are connecting on 46.3% from the floor and 34.9% from three. Its opponents are connecting on 38.3%, which is second in Conference USA, and 33.0% from three.
