Owls Open Cross Country Season on Friday

Collegiate races begin at 6:15 p.m.
HOUSTON - Rice cross country launches the start of their 2019 season this Friday, Sept. 13 when they host the Rice Invitational at the Rice Intramural Fields. The women's race begins at 6:15 p.m., followed by the men at approximately 6:45 p.m.
Admission for Friday's 20-team meet is free, as is parking located in West Lot 4.
The Rice men's team is ranked fourth in the USTFCCCA South Central Region Preseason Poll and were also picked to place fourth in the Conference USA Coaches Poll. Head coach Jon Warren enters his 18th season at the helm and will oversee a Rice team that placed fourth at last year's NCAA Regionals.
The Owls' women's squad was also picked to place fourth in the USTFCCCA South Central Region Preseason Poll. Veteran head coach Jim Bevan enters his 15th season at the helm for a Rice team that was picked to finish second in the C-USA Preseason Poll.
