Card-Childers Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

Third straight honor
DALLAS - Rice senior decathlete Charlie Card-Childers was named to the 2019 InTouch Credit Union Men's Track and Field All-Academic Team, the league announced on Tuesday.
Card-Childers, from Houston, was named to the all-academic team for a third straight season, earning a 3.79 GPA as an undergrad in Cognitive Sciences and a 3.93 GPA in Global Affairs in grad school. Earlier this year he earned C-USA All-Conference honors by placing second (5461 points) in the heptathlon at the C-USA Indoor Championships and went on to place third overall (7529 points) in the decathlon at the Texas Relays.
Last month, Card-Childers was recognized as the Bob Quinn Award recipient at the annual Night of the Owl event.
The C-USA All-Academic Team is comprised of 11 male track and field athletes with a minimum grade point average of 3.2 and at least a sophomore class standing.
