
Haet Closes Unbeaten Weekend in Orlando

The Lead: Michaela Haet completed an unbeaten weekend in singles as Rice took four of seven singles matches from No. 16 Kansas to close out action in the Orlando Invitational at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida on Sunday.
The Details: Haet shook off a tiebreak loss in the first set to down the Jayhawks Malkia Ngounoue 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 to finish with a 3-0 mark on the weekend. Linda Huang, Anastasia Smirnova and Victoria Smirnova each picked up two wins over the weekend for the Owls who finished 12-8 in singles, 3-2 against ranked opponents.
Elizabeth Schmidt: "This weekend was exactly what we needed at this point. A lot of hard fought matches out there again today. We grew as a team and now we will get back to the practice court on Tuesday to continue the process."
