Rice split four singles matches and picked up a win in doubles during the first day of the 2018 River Oaks Country Club Fall College Invitational on Friday.
The Details:
Anna Bowtell and Michaela Haet won in straight sets on the first day of the round robin competition that also features players from Houston, North Carolina State, SMU and Texas. Bowtell defeated NC State's Amanda Rebol 7-5, 6-2 and Haet picked up a 6-3, 7-5 win over SMU's Katherine Jakeway. Linda Huang and Priya Niezgoda combined for a 6-3 win over Rebol and Adriana Reami during the first day of doubles competition.
