The Lead: Rice saw both doubles teams and four of five singles entries post wins on the first day of action in the ITA Texas Regional at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station, Texas on Thursday.

The Goal: Winners in singles and doubles in the regional will advance to the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships from November 7-11, 2018, at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona, which recently hosted the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championships and previously hosted the 2016 ITA Small College Championships. Rice's Lindsey Hodge and Wendy Zhang captured the doubles title in 2017 to advance to Fall Nationals.
