Musial finishes as top Rice runner
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Rice Owls men's cross country team wrapped up their non-conference season on Saturday with an 11th place finish (10th collegiately) at the Texas A&M Arturo Barrios Invitational.
Senior Clay Musial was the top individual finisher for the Owls, placing 30th overall in a time of 25:10 in the 8k race. Hociel Landa (63rd-25:47), Adolfo Carvalho (78th-26:00), Alex Topini (86th-26:08) and Andrew Abikhaled (88th-26:09) also scored for the Owls.
Oklahoma State (93 points) was the top collegiate team, followed by Texas (98 points) and Tennessee (113 points).
Rice will next partake in the Conference USA Championships, which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 8:15 a.m. (CT) in Boca Raton, Fla.
