Natalie Beazant saw her bid to advance to the semifinals of the 2014 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships end with a straight set loss to Virginia's Stephanie Nauta on Friday at the USTA Billie Jean National King Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.

Beazant dropped the first set 6-2, but jumped out to an early lead in the second before Nauta fought off a late break opportunity and then closed the match out with a 7-5 win in the second set.

Beazant closed out her fall campaign with a 10-3. She and her Rice teammates will return to the courts on January 17 when they open their dual season by hosting Lamar at 1:30.
