AUSTIN - Rice University's Kim Anicete, Leah Fried and Stephanie Nguyen all lost consolation matches as the Owls concluded play at the Texas Longhorns Women's Invitational here Saturday.
Fried, playing in the winner's bracket consolation final, dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Texas' Juliana Galic Saturday.
In the loser's bracket draw, Fried lost a 6-2, 7-5 decision to Texas' Annat Rabinovich while Nguyen fell to Texas-Arlington's Giada D'Ortona 6-3, 6-2.
The Owls return to action Oct. 7-9 when they play host to the Rice Invitational.
