Rice assistant women's tennis coach Younes Limam picked up a postseason honor of his own this past week as he was named the ITA Assistant Coach of the Year for the Texas Region.
"It's great to see Younes being recognized for his hard work," Rice head women's coach Elizabeth Schmidt said. "His enthusiasm and positive attitude has been instrumental in our team's success. He relates well to our players and is a very innovative coach who has made a huge difference on and off the court."
In his second year with the Owls, Limam saw the Owls maintain a national ranking throughout the season and reach the semifinals of the C-USA Championship before falling to Tulsa. The Owls finished the season with a 14-10 record.
Limam joined the Rice women's tennis staff in 2009 after three seasons as an assistant coach at Texas-Arlington. In his final year at UTA, a group of players he was responsible for recruiting led the Mavericks to a Southland Conference title and berth in the NCAA Championships.
