HOUSTON - Dominique Karas brought home an ESPN The Magazine Academic At-Large All-District VI Second-Team selection Thursday as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members.
Karas concluded her Rice career with a 3.74 grade point average and graduated earlier this month. She won 15 of her 20 during the spring mostly as the Owls No. 2 singles player en route to an All-Conference USA First-Team singles pick. Karas teamed with Julie Chao to earn All-Conference USA Third-Team doubles honors.
The Nova Scotia product also was instrumental as Rice tallied a 17-5 record, its best dual-match effort since the 1983 season.
CoSIDA's District VI comprises of Division I universities in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
