Baseball Alumni Game entry form (pdf)
Dear Rice Baseball Player,
It's that time of year again! Time to dust off those cleats, loosen up that back and get ready to take part in the Rice Baseball Alumni Game. This year the game will be played at noon on Saturday, January 28, 2006 on campus at Reckling Park. We hope that you will be able to join us on and off the field!
We have a pretty good jump on the event this year, and we hope that you will fill out the downloadable form at the link provided above and sent it back to us as soon as possible so that we can make sure we have you on the roster for the big game. In addition, we don't have information on every player, so if you know of men that you played with at Rice that have new email addresses or mailing addresses, I hope that you will forward the information to them and have them contact us. The only way that we are going to get all former players involved is by putting together a communication chain to alert all the former players to the event.
Once again, we are proud to have you play and will provide you with tickets to the Alumni Game, the post game barbecue and the men's basketball game that night against Tulane as well. We encourage you to come out, bring the family and enjoy a great day of baseball back at Rice. Please be sure to note whether you will actually be playing in a portion of the game, or just be introduced at the pregame ceremony. I encourage you, even if you are not going to play, to come out and enjoy a great day with your teammates on the field before and after the game. About half of our participants in the past have not played, so don't feel bad if you can't throw that old curve ball anymore; we just want you out for the afternoon to enjoy it with us.
Please call me if you have any questions (or leads on former players) and I will be happy to help. We want this to be the biggest and best Alumni Game ever as the Owls head into Conference USA in 2006, and into what will be one of the top college baseball leagues in the nations.
Have a great 2006 and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Sincerely,
Mike Pede,
