Women's Tennis: Rice Swept by #35 Tulane

The Owls had two singles matches go to three sets. Playing at the top spot, senior Charlotte Feasby took the first set before falling to Anna Monhartova 4-6, 6-2, 6-2. Sophomore Judith Hagedorn had similar results at number three, getting tripped by Julie Morris 4-6, 6-0, 6-3. Rice was swept in the other four singles matches.
In doubles action, the Owls were defeated at both the numbers one and two positions. Hagedorn and sophomore Kylie Wallis were leading 7-1 over Maiko Cook and Anneli Axsater at number three before the match was suspended when rain moved through the area.
The Rice women (6-7) now gear up to play their next three matches at home, starting with 59th-ranked Arkansas next Sunday at 12 noon at the Jake Hess Tennis Stadium.
