Erin Howard joined the Owls in June 2024, as a graduate assistant. Howard came to Rice from the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans, where she served as an inside sales representative for six months.
Howard spent her first two seasons at Auburn before finishing her playing career at Florida State.
With the Seminoles, Howard started in her final 53 games at FSU and averaged 7.9 points and 5.9 rebounds during the 2022-23 season. She led the team in threes with 56, which ranked eighth in the ACC. Her 26 consecutive games with a three-pointer was the most for an FSU player since the 2017-18 season.
With Auburn, Howard averaged 7.6 points per game her sophomore season, more than doubling her scoring from her freshman year. Howard led the Tigers in three-pointers (45) and blocked shots (11). She also ranked in the top 11 in the SEC overall in three-point field goals made per game (11th, 1.6) and ninth in league play with 1.7 threes per game.
She earned her Master of Science in Sport Management from Florida State and her Bachelor of Science in Sport Management in 2023, also from Florida State.
Howard is the daughter of James and Kathryn Howard. She has two siblings, Kiah and Marcus, and one dog, Milo.
