Earned the Ropeholder Award...Was First Team Academic All-State...AP scholar with distinction...Member of the National Honor Society.

Son of Suzie and Mike Bacon...Has one brother, Dyer...Great Granddad Eddie Dyer Sr. was a three-sport athlete at Rice for baseball, football and track. Held the conference long jump record. 1921- came back in 1936 to finish degree after getting drafted and coaching for the St. Louis Cardinals.
