Honorable mention All C-USA pick by league coaches... Led the team in rushing (860) and all purpose yards (1169) and second in receiving (39 for 309 yards) in a standout senior season... Joined his brother Quinton (2005, 06) in leading the Owls in rushing... Became the 20th Owl to top 1,500 yards in career rushing and finished his career ranked 18th on the career rushing list (see chart)...Rushed for over 100 yards for the second time this year and the fourth time in his career with 145 yards vs. Tulane... Scored both Owls[apos] touchdowns in the 19-7 win...
Rushed 520 yards and compiled 739 all-purpose yards over his final five games (520 rushing, 219 receiving)... Caught a career-best eight passes for 74 yards while rushing for 89 in the Homecoming win over UTEP... Broke school and conference records for the longest run from scrimmage with a 97-yard scoring jaunt at Houston... Bettered the Rice record of 95 yards set by Dicky Maegle in the 1954 Cotton Bowl and matched 49 years later by Kyle Herm against Nevada... Maegle was awarded a 95-yard score by officials after Alabama[apos]s Tommy Lewis came off the bench to tackle the Owls running back as he sprinted up the sideline...Finished the night at Houston with a career-best 170 yards on 13 carries and his 13.1 average per carry ranks sixth on the Rice single-game list.... Maegle holds the record, averaging 24.1 yards per carry in the 1954 Cotton Bowl... Added 73 yards receiving (including a career-best 67-yard TD) to finish 243 all-purpose years, to match his brother 10th on the Owls[apos] single-game chart ... Quinton Smith ran for 171 yards and added 72 receiving in a win over UTEP in El Paso in 2006... Topped 1,000 career rushing yards with 66 vs. Tulsa... Just missed his third career 100-yard rushing day, finishing with 97 yards on 14 carries vs. Memphis... Started in the opener at Texas and responded with 67 yards rushing and a pair of receptions... Started against Purdue and rushed for 25 yards on 11 carries.
2010 Scored his second career touchdown on a six-yard run at Tulsa... Caught a career-high three passes vs. Baylor and rushed for 42 yards on 10 carries... Caught a pair of passes, including one for a career-long 19 yards against Northwestern... Ran for 92 yards on 12 carries, including a career-best, 48-yard burst and caught a pair of passes for nine yards to spark the offense against North Texas... Became the first Owl to post back-to-back, 100-yard days when he ran for 113 yards on 21 carries vs. Houston... Last Owl RB to do so was his brother Quinton in 2006.. Ran for 240 yards over hte last two games... Rushed for a career-high 127 yards on 23 carries and scored his first career touchdown (12 yards) in the win over UTEP... Was the Owls first 100-yard rusher since C. J. Ugokwe ran for 110 vs. Houston in 2008 and the most by an Owl running back since his brother Quinton ran for 171 vs. UTEP in 2006... Picked up 38 yards on 10 carries vs. UCF, including a career-best 19 yard carry... Rushed for 49 yards at Texas Tech, despite coming down with turf toe during the game.... Missed four games while recuperating... Returned to action at ECU and posted career-longs with a 13-yard rush and a 13-yard reception...
