Rice Places Six on 20th Hampshire Honor Society Class

2026 NFF Hampshire Honor Society Honorees
Houston-Six Rice Owls are among a record 2,596 student-athletes from 365 colleges and universities named to the 20th National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society class, which was announced on Wednesday.
Micah Barnett, Christian Edgar, Netane Fehoko, David Kasemervisz, Weston Kropp and Peyton Stevenson joined a list of 78 Owls who have been honored since the program was introduced in 2007.
Rice's 78 honorees rank as the ninth most in the 20 years the NFF has saluted college football players who meet the following criteria:
Edgar graduated with a 3.428 GPA in Business/Finance and was a mainstay on special teams the last two years, posting the Owls' highest grade on PFF as a senior. He originally came to Rice as a walk-on quarterback, then switched to defense for two years before becoming a Slot receiver as a senior. He also starred for the Owls in track, placing third in the 60-meter hurdles in consecutive years at the American Conference Indoor Championship.
Fehoko compiled a 3.328 GPA in Business Management after originally transferring to Rice from the College of Sam Mateo. saw his most extensive action as a senior and stepped into the starting lineup for five games at guard.
Kasemervisz graduated from Stanford with a 3.578 while majoring in Bioengineering before returning home to Houston and playing for Rice as a grad transfer, where he was a starter on special teams and a reserve wide receiver.
Kropp posted a 3.436 GPA in Business Management at Rice after transferring from Jones College in Mississippi and saw action in 30 games at guard and center, including eight career starts.
Stevenson completed his degree in Sport Analytics with a 3.285 cumulative GPA, while developing from the Owls' top special teams performer into a standout at safety as a senior, finishing fifth on the team with 58 tackles.
The NFF Hampshire Honor Society is a key part of the NFF's mission to promote academic excellence, leadership and personal development through football. Created in 2007 with support from Jon F. Hanson, the program expanded the NFF's ability to recognize student-athletes beyond its National Scholar-Athlete program. The NFF Hampshire Honor Society is one of the most comprehensive scholar-athlete initiatives in college athletics, recognizing football players from all divisions who have maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or higher.
