James Burnett is in his first season as the Owls Assistant Director of Recruiting. He originally joined the Owls in September of 2018 as a recruiting and player personnel analyst and was named to his current position in March of 2019.
Burnett oversees the application process for prospective Owls as well as evaluations of potential recruits and game day recruiting operations.
A 2018 graduate of the University of Mississippi, Burnett worked with the Ole Miss football team as an undergraduate. He was the student assistant recruiting coordinator from 2014-16 and then worked as a student assistant in football operations and player development.
Prior to joining the Owls’ recruiting staff, he worked with the Miami Dolphins during their 2018 training camp as an intern in football operations.
