- Baseball Analytics Coordinator
Gurin joined the Owls as the Baseball Analytics Coordinator in November 2021. He is responsible for overseeing all data and video operations and is tasked with processing and interpreting the collected data for both player development and scouting.
Gurin founded the Rice Baseball Analytics Team as a sophomore in 2018 and served as its president. He became a student manager as a junior, while also catching bullpens for the team. He was the first individual to bring advanced analytics to Rice Baseball and has continued growing these efforts since then.
Gurin graduated from Rice with degrees in both Statistics and Sport Analytics and minors in Data Science and Business while also playing for the Club Baseball team.
