Rice hosts UTSA on October 3
Rice's Families Weekend meeting with UTSA on October 3 will kick off at 6 p.m. with coverage on ESPN+. The announcement was made jointly by the network and the American Conference on Monday.
The meeting with the Roadrunners will open the Owls' fourth season of play in the American Conference.
This will be the 14th meeting between the schools since 2012, in a series that has been played continuously except for the 2020 cancellation due to the pandemic. In the last meeting at Rice Stadium in 2024, the Owls snapped an eight-game losing streak in the series with a dramatic 29-27 thanks to an 18-yard touchdown pass from E.J. Warner to Matt Sykes with four seconds remaining.
Rice closes out its 2026 road schedule this Saturday when the Owls travel west to take on Fresno State at 9 p.m. (central) on the CW.
