Hampton Named American Field Athlete of the Week

IRVING – Rice men's track and field graduate student Ty Hampton was named the American Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
In his first throws since 2024, Hampton won the javelin title at the Victor Lopez Classic with a throw of 74.19m.
His mark leads the American Conference and is seventh in the NCAA.
The Owls are off to the Texas Relays this weekend.
