Open four-game series in Phoenx on Friday
Houston- Houston jumped on Rice early and rolled to a 13-1 win in the opening game of the 2026 Silver Glove Series at Schroeder Park on Tuesday night.
How it Happened: The Cougars took an early lead with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first and went on to add runs in the third, fourth, and fifth before ending the game in the eighth with five. In the top of the eighth, the Owls cashed in on their best scoring chance. Kutter-Gage Webb walked, then moved to third on Mason Ashlock's blistering double down the left field line. Landis Davilla then brought Webb in with a groundout to break the shutout.
Next Up: Rice heads west this weekend for a four-game weekend set of games featuring two against both Saint Mary's and Grand Canyon. The action opens with a doubleheader on Friday, facing Saint Mary's at 3 p.m. (central) and Grand Canyon at 8 p.m.
