2026: Closed the season strongly, not allowing a run in his final five appearances and picking up his first career win… Allowed just two hits in his final 6.2 innings (five games) and while striking out five… Earned his first career win by working 1.1 innings vs. Tulane… Came into the game after the Green Wave had taken a 5-3 lead with two outs in the tenth and retired his first hitter… Rice scored twice in the bottom of the 10th, and then after Kuhn retired the side in order, Rice won on Aric Anderson’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 11th… Gave up runs in only three of 12 appearances during the season, three of them in his debut vs. Northwestern on 2/15… Struck out a career-high three in an inning vs. Houston on 3/10… Retired nine of 12 first hitters he faced… Did not allow a run in five outings on the road and struck out eight in 6.1 innings.

2024: 2-3 with a pair of saves and a 4.67 ERA in 12 games (five starts) as a freshman and also hit .273 with a homer and 20 RBI in 132 at-bats… Averaged 12.67 strikeouts per nine innings (38 in 27.0 IP)… Both saves came in three-inning stints, first against Gateway CC on 2/17, when he struck out seven, and against Madison College on 3/12, when he did not allow a hit in three scoreless frames and struck out five.
Pinnacle High School: Two-year starter for coach Sam Messina as the Pioneers earned a berth in the state playoffs his senior year… Named the Region Offensive Player of the Year as a senior after hitting .443 with an OBP of .537 and an OPS of 1.135.
