Trae Broadnax Earns Fourth American Honorable Mention

HOUSTON — For the fourth time this season, Rice graduate student guard Trae Broadnax has been named American Conference Honorable Mention, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
It is also the sixth honor of his career.
Broadnax led the Owls to a 1-1 record, averaging 18.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 5.0 assists. He began the week recording a double-double, scoring a season-high 22 points and grabbing a career-high 12 rebounds, while adding a game-high seven assists in an 86-83, double-overtime victory over North Texas. He connected on two free throws with 2.2 seconds left to send the game to overtime, then hit two more to seal the win in double-overtime, finishing 11-of-12 from the line.
He followed that by scoring a team-high 15 points and pulling down five rebounds at UAB.
Rice begins a stretch of three out of four games at home this Wednesday, Feb. 11, when it hosts Florida Atlantic. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT and the game will be streamed by ESPN+.
