Trae Broadnax Earns Fifth American Honorable Mention

HOUSTON — For the second straight week and the fifth time this season, Rice graduate student guard Trae Broadnax has been named American Conference Honorable Mention, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
It is also the seventh honor of his career.
Broadnax led the Owls to a 1-1 record, averaging 23.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists. He began the week scoring 20 points, and recording team-highs of six rebounds and five assists in an 81-73 victory over Florida Atlantic. He followed that by scoring a career-high 27 points, while adding four rebounds and four assists against East Carolina.
On the week, he connected on 47.2% from the floor and 90.9% from the free throw line.
Rice returns to action this Sunday, Feb. 22, when it travels to New Orleans, La., to face Tulane. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT and the game will be streamed by ESPN+.
