HOUSTON — For the second straight week, Rice graduate student guard Trae Broadnax has been named American Conference Honorable Mention, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
It is his third honor this season, and the fifth of his career.
Broadnax led Rice to an 89-73 victory over UTSA. He led the Owls with 20 points, tied a season-high with seven assists, while adding three rebounds and two steals. He was 7-of-11 from the field, 2-of-4 from three, and 4-of-6 from the free throw line. He has recorded three straight 20-point games for the first time in his career.
It's the first time in his career with back-to-back 20 point games, the first Owl to do so since Travis Evee in 2024.
Rice begins a two-game homestand this Wednesday, Jan. 21, when it hosts Temple. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT and the game will be streamed by ESPN+.
