Boandl Takes Third at Austrian National Championship

HOUSTON — Rice senior golfer Lukas Boandl finished in third-place at the Austrian National Championship, played last week at Golf Club Gut Murstätten in Oedt, Austria.
Boandl finished at -14, three strokes behind medalist Niklas Regner.
He began the tournament by firing a five-under 67. After consecutive rounds of 70, he closed the tournament with his second 67. He recorded 19 birdies, and an eagle on the 15th hole in the first round.
Boandl enters his senior year after coming off a season that saw him earn an at-large berth to NCAA Regionals while being named to the American All-Conference Team.
