
Men's Tennis Earns Four CSC Academic All-District Distinctions

GREENWOOD, Ind. — College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) has released its Academic All-District honors for the 2024-25 men's tennis season, with four Rice Owls being named to the team.
The four Owls include Arthus de la Bassetiere, Petro Kuzmenok, Eduardo Morias, and Santiago Navarro.
ARTHUS DE LA BASSETIERE | MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
De la Bassetiere posted a 12-8 duals record this season, with a large portion of his playtime coming with partner Kabeer Kapasi. The two were ranked through the majority of the season, helping lead the Owls to the AAC Championship and return to the NCAA Tournament for the second-straight year. The Reims, France, native will graduated with his degree in May of 2025.
PETRO KUZMENOK | MATHEMATICAL ECONOMIC ANALYSIS
An American Athletic Conference All-Conference Singles and Doubles team member, Kuzmenok earned the honor from the CSC by starting in all matches this season. He is currently ranked 88th in the ITA doubles ranking with partner Santiago Navarro. Kuzemnok finished the season with a 13-7 singles record and a 16-3 duals record.
EDUARDO MORAIS | BUSINESS FINANCE & MATHEMATICAL ECONOMIC ANALYSIS
Morais played the majority of the season in doubles, posting a 9-7 doubles record and a perfect 4-0 record in singles in 2025, finishing his career with a 12-5 singles and 30-20 doubles record. Morais helped lead the Owls to its first conference crown since 2017, taking part in the College Station Regional for the second-straight year. The Lisbon, Portugal native graduated in May of 2025.
SANTIAGO NAVARRO | MATHEMATICAL ECONOMIC ANALYSIS
Navarro claimed the clinching point over Memphis to secure Rice's first conference championship in eight years. He finished his junior season with a doubles record of 10-3, earning a ranking as high as 83rd with partner Kuzmenok in the ITA doubles rankings. He also carries a singles record of 7-7 in the season, including the aforementioned win in the AAC Championship.
