HOUSTON - The 43rd-ranked Rice Owls will conclude the regular season with a home match against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders on Saturday afternoon at the George R. Brown Tennis Center. First serve is set for 11 a.m., with the senior ceremony set for 10:50 a.m.
Rice will honor two seniors before the match, with Saara Orav and Allison Zipoli earning their senior recognitions prior to the match.
Rice is 15-5 on the season and winners of three-straight and winners of 10 of its last 11 matches. The Owls just concluded a stretch where seven of the eight opponents they faced were ranked, going 7-1 in that stretch, only falling at then-No. 38 Furman. MTSU is 15-6 on the year and but plays at Sam Houston on Friday, April 11, before facing Rice on Saturday.
The series between the two is tied at 2-2. The Blue Raiders won the first two matches in 2000 and 2002, but Rice won the two more recent matches in 2019 and 2021. This will be the first non-neutral site match in the series between the two. While they met in Houston in 2019, it was during the C-USA Tournament that season, and is considered a neutral site match.
