713 Night features first game of Silver Glove Series on Wednesday
How it Happened: After the Cardinals took an early 4-0 lead in the top of the second, Rice responded with four runs after two were out in the bottom of the inning to draw even. Barrett Eldridge opened the inning with a double, and after two outs, Tobias Motley slammed his second home run of the season over the wall in left to bring him home. Zito and Cole Green each followed with walks, with Zito coming home on an RBI single by Bocachica and then Green tying the game by coming home on a wild pitch. Two innings later, Zito led off with a single and Green walked. Bocachica came through with another RBI single to score Zito and give Rice its first lead of the night, and Green came home with the Owls' sixth run on a fielder's choice by Gunnett Carlson after a rundown saw Bocachica retired at third, but Green went home when Lamar failed to cover the plate. Lamar retook the lead with three runs in the top of the fifth but Rice drew even one last time when Rank scored when the Lamar catcher dropped a throw to the plate on a ground ball by Zito.
