HOUSTON – Registration for the 2025 Rice Men's Track and Field Alumni Reunion is now open. Head coach Jon Warren, the PR Club, "R" Association and Rice Athletics are excited to invite letterwinners to a two-day event beginning on Friday, April 25, through Saturday, April 26.
This year, the event will honor two all-time greats, Bryan Bronson '95 and Gawain Guy '98.
"Having our PR Club annual dinner on the same weekend as the Duckett Twilight Meet is especially exciting for everyone involved," Warren said. "The two events, while also honoring two of our all-time greats, make for an outstanding weekend of track and field. I am looking forward to what should be a great weekend for the team and alumni."
A four-year member of the Rice track from 1992-95, Bronson is one of the most decorated athletes in Rice history. His top accomplishment at Rice came in 1993, when he was crowned champion of the 400m hurdles at the NCAA Championships. He later became Rice men's track's most recent Olympian, representing the United States at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. He became the fourth Rice athlete to win their event at the Olympic trials. He is an eight-time All-American and a four-time Southwest Conference champion. Bronson still holds the school records in the 200m (outdoor and indoor), indoor 4x400 Relay, and outdoor 400m hurdles.
Guy, another one of Rice's most decorated athletes, competed for the Owls from 1983-86. Guy became Rice men's track's first-ever NCAA indoor champion, doing so in 1985 in the 1000m. He is a four-time All-American and was the 1985 Southwest Conference champion in the 880-yard dash. Another Rice Olympian, he represented Jamaica in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. Guy holds the school record in the outdoor mile.
The festivities will begin on Friday evening at the men's track and field alumni dinner, which will be held in the R Room. The price will be $25 per person and free for children under 12 (attire is business casual).
