Owls Primed for the National Stage

HOUSTON - After earning its first conference championship since 2013-14, the Rice swim team will take part in the CSCAA National Invitational Championship hosted by FAST Florida down in Ocala, Florida.

12 swimmers are entered into the event for the Owls. Their names and events cane be found below:
Reese Cole - 200 IM, 400 IM, 100 IM, 200 Breast
Lily Cramer - 200 IM, 400 IM, 100 Breast, 200 Breast
Ella Dyson - 500 Free, 400 IM, 1650 Free
Siir Einio - 50 Breast, 100 Breast, 200 Breast
Mimi Filkin - 50 Back, 200 IM, 100 Back, 200 Back
Ava Hamblett - 500 Free, 200 Free, 100 Back, 200 Back
Arielle Hayon - 50 Fly, 100 Fly, 100 IM, 200 Fly
Amelia Kane - 500 Free, 400 IM, 1650 Free

Additionally, the Owls will take part in five relay events. These include the 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay, 800 Free Relay, 200 Medley Relay, and the 400 Medley Relay.
Rice comes into the NIC after earning its first conference championship since the Conference USA Championship back in 2013-14. Rice had a dramatic finish during the 400 Free Relay at the tail-end of the championship, finishing in fourth place by .24 hundreths of a second to earn 52 points, outscoring FIU in the final count by a point and a half, and earning the conference championship.
