
Rice’s DMR Title Highlights Day One of AAC’s

BIRMINGHAM – The Rice women's track and field team claimed an event title with several others scoring and advancing to the finals during day one of the AAC Indoor Championships at Birmingham, Ala.
Rice's DMR team of Amelie Attenborough, Riana Green, Niamh Collins and Oliwia Kopeć capped off day one of the women's competition by claiming Rice's only event title for the day.
Daphne Mayer secured points for Rice with a sixth-place finish in the 5000m.
In the pentathlon, Julia Johannesdottir scored several points with a sixth-place finish.
Saniya Friendly advanced to the finals in both the 60m and the 200m, while Niamh Collins and Johanna Bangala adavanced to the 800m finals.
Amelie Attenborough, Oliwia Kopeć and Heidi Nielson all qualified to the finals in the mile.
