Trae Broadnax Named American Honorable Mention

HOUSTON — Rice graduate student guard Trae Broadnax was named American Conference Honorable Mention, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
It is his first honor this season, and the third of his career.
Broadnax led Rice to a 77-72 victory over Texas State in its only game of the week. Broadnax led the Owls with 16 points, a season-high seven rebounds and six assists, two steals, and two blocks. With Texas State holding a 53-51 lead, Broadnax hit a jumper, then made two free throws to give Rice the lead.
He became the first Owl to lead the team in all five categories since Chris Mullins against Marshall on Feb. 9, 2019.
Rice continues its homestand this Saturday, Dec. 13, when it hosts Arkansas State. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT and the game will be streamed by ESPN+.
