As a team, Rice shot 24-of-64 (37.5%) from the field and 3-of-20 (15%) from three-point range. The Owls added a 13-of-14 (92.9%) showing from the free throw line. Rice out-rebounded Tulsa 49-29 and outscored the Golden Hurricane 36-16 in the paint.
Postgame Reaction – Shelley Pennington and Friends Head Coach Lindsay Edmonds
"I'm just really proud of this group. I thought we came out and we had a great defensive first half, and the defense held us down while we had a little bit of offensive woes. But we were really, really tough, and we found a way in the second half to get our offense going. It wasn't by the traditional three for us; we were just being really aggressive. We were getting to the rim and getting second-chance opportunities. I think we proved just how tough we can be on both sides of the ball tonight and we did it for 40 minutes, so I'm really proud of that effort."
