
Abdulky Named AAC Field Athlete of the Week

IRVING – After claiming the first event title of the new season, Cal Abdulky was named the American Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
"Excellent start to the season for Cal," said men's track and field head coach Jon Warren. "I am excited to see what he does in a few weeks at the next meet."
Abdulky opened the season by claiming the team's first event title with the weight throw crown with a throw of 19.39m, which ranks him top 50 in the NCAA.
The Owls will have several athletes making their season debut at the FasTrak Invite on Jan. 25, with a mostly full squad showing the following weekend at the Robert Platt Invite.
