Men’s Hoops to Face Florida State at Toyota Center

HOUSTON — The Rice men's basketball team will face ACC-foe Florida State at the Toyota Center as part of The Battleground 2k24 on Saturday, Nov. 9.
"Leonard Hamilton is someone I admire as much as anyone in our profession," said Rice head coach Rob Lanier. "So the opportunity to compete against his program is something we appreciate greatly. Coach has built one of the most successful programs in the country while serving as a tremendous resource for so many of us. This will be an exciting challenge for our program."
Tip-off time, ticket information, and broadcasting network will be announced at a later date. The game will be a part of a doubleheader with Houston facing Auburn. For event details, please visit USportsEnt.com.
"We are very excited about The Battleground 2k college hoops series and the opportunity that this premier sports platform presents to combine great competition with in Houston," USE President Rhossi Carron says. "The event will focus on empowering and improving the lives of kids in those communities and helping the participating student-athletes develop their passion for giving back in a genuine way. We look forward to utilizing The Battleground 2k basketball platform to impact the lives of children in this great city."
Florida State holds a 5-2 record in the series. The Owls will face off with the Seminoles for the first time since 1997. Rice will also face an ACC opponent for the first time playing Pitt in 2016.
The Battleground 2k is a premier basketball event owned and operated by United Sports & Entertainment, LLC.
