Kerry Named Second Team CSC All-American

HOUSTON – Rice men's track & field senior Shaun Kerry was named a Second Team CSC Academic All-American for men's track & field/cross country, the College Sports Communicators announced Wednesday.
A native of Driffield, England, Kerry graduated with a degree in neuroscience and psychological studies with a 3.83 GPA. This is his fifth academic honor of the season, being named an AAC Scholar-Athlete, Rice University Scholar-Athlete, a 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award winner, and a CSC Academic All-District.
He is also a two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic and a three-time C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and Academic Medal honoree. Kerry was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team last season.
Kerry closed his Rice career with Honorable Mention All-American honors after finishing 19th in the hammer throw at the 2024 NCAA Championships.
This season, Kerry was the runner-up in the hammer throw at the AAC Outdoor Championships and finished third in the weight throw at the AAC indoor meet. He won the 2023 C-USA Outdoor hammer throw title and is a five-time All-Conference honoree.
He ranks second all-time in the hammer throw and fifth all-time in the weight throw at Rice.
