
Hampton, Kerry Close Outdoor Season at NCAA Championships

EUGENE – The Rice men's track and field team saw its 2024 season come to a close Wednesday evening on the opening day of the 2024 NCAA DI Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Ty Hampton earned Second Team All-American honors after finishing 14th in the javelin. This is the second All-American honor for Hampton and the first since the 2022 season. Hampton finishes the season sitting in second all-time in the javelin at Rice.
Shaun Kerry closed out his collegiate career with his first All-American honor, earning an honorable mention after finishing 19th in the hammer throw. Kerry closes his career ranking second all-time in the hammer throw and third all-time in the weight throw at Rice.
This was the third consecutive NCAA outdoor championship meet with multiple athletes competing for Rice.
