Game Two set for 6:35 Friday
The Details: The Pirates took advantage of Rice errors in the first and second innings to score nine unearned runs and four pitchers combined to hold Rice to five hits. After ECU opened with four in the first, Manny Garza cut the lead in half with a two-run double in the second. Kyte McDonald, Pierce Gallo and Trey Duffield each hit solo homers to account for the final three runs in the game.
Up Next: The Owls and Pirates will close out the 2024 regular season with the second game of the doubleheader later on Friday.
- Rice fell to 22-33 overall, 11-15 in the AAC, and 10-5 against ECU in Greenville.
- Gallo's homer was his fifth in his last six games. He is hitting .545 (11x18) in his last six games.
