HOUSTON — Rice men's basketball coach Rob Lanier has announced Monday afternoon the signing of transfer Denver Anglin to a grant-in-aid for the 2024-25 school year.
"Denver is a worker and a winner," said Lanier. "I am so delighted that I get to continue to work with him. He can flat out shoot the ball and he adds versatility to our backcourt as a ball handler and decision maker. He will bring an infectious spirit and attitude to the program every day, on and off the court."
Anglin, a 6-1 guard, comes to South Main after spending last year at SMU, where he redshirted. Prior to SMU, he spent his freshman season at Georgetown, where he saw action in 18 games.
A native of Montclair, N.J., Anglin played his prep ball at Gill St. Bernard's, where he scored 1,227 points in 84 games. Ranked 87th by ESPN in the Class of 2022, he scored 341 points as senior while leading the team with 89 assists and 33 steal on his way to a NJ.com All-State Second Team selection.
Anglin joins guard/forward Kellen Amos (Houston, Texas/Central Connecticut State) and guard Anthony Baston, Jr. (Scottsdale, Ariz.) in the 2024-25 recruiting class.
