HOUSTON, Texas — Rice women's tennis senior Federica Trevisan has been named the AAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending April 1.
Trevisan, playing exclusively at the first positions, went a combined 4-0 across doubles and singles play to help Rice to a pair of 4-2 wins against North Texas and No. 42 Charlotte at the George R. Brown Tennis Center. Against the Mean Green, Trevisan recorded a 6-4 win in doubles playing alongside graduate senior Chie Kezuka. Trevisan then posted a 6-2, 6-3 win in singles play, beginning a streak of three-straight Owl wins to clinch the 4-2 win. Against the 42nd-ranked 49ers, Trevisan again teamed with Kezuka in doubles play to defeat the nation's 60th-ranked doubles partnership, 6-4. Trevisan also recorded a 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 victory in singles to clinch the win for Rice.
It is Trevisan's second time being named a conference player of the week and first time being named the AAC Player of the Week. Trevisan was previously named the Conference USA Player of the Week as a freshman on Jan. 20, 2021.
